Best Foot Forward Community Outreach reZooms with Winter Park Rotary Club

As everyone adjusts to communicating during the pandemic, Best Foot Forward (BFF) continues reaching out to organizations in Central Florida with our pedestrian safety messages. Recently, BFF’s community outreach specialist Roni Wood shared information about the program with the Winter Park Rotary via the club’s now weekly online Zoom meeting. 49 Rotarians logged in to convene and hear from the BFF guest speaker about how they can put their best foot forward for pedestrian safety.

Roni also warned attendees to be on the lookout for law enforcement the next day as they would be out across the region issuing citations for drivers failing to yield to people in marked crosswalks during Operation Best Foot Forward. More importantly, she stressed the need to always drive carefully and watch for more vulnerable road users. She asked Rotarians to help spread the message about crosswalk safety, display an iY4Peds magnet and subscribe to the BFF newsletter. She also mentioned the upcoming Bike 5 Cities Ride on October 3.
