In the past year, three crosswalks monitored by the Best Foot Forward program in Osceola County have seen significant increases in driver yield rates after the installation of rectangular rapid-flashing beacons (RRFBs).
As part of Mobility Week, Best Foot Forward managing partner Bike/Walk Central Florida joined founders of xGeographic and LUX Solar to present a one-hour Zoom webinar on “Pedestrian Safety at Night.” If you missed it, it’s not too late to learn from experts about:
- Why certain areas are more prone to pedestrian fatalities
- An overall look at pedestrian accidents at night in Florida
- Land use trends and roadway characteristics
- Latest technologies in lighting solutions that enhance bike and pedestrian infrastructure, lighting the way for people walking or riding bicycles at night.
