Best Wishes to Osceola County Sheriff’s Deputy Spears and BFF Liaison in Retirement

FDOT’s Joe Steward presents Deputy Spears with a Certificate of Appreciation at Deputy Spears’ final Community Traffic Safety Team meeting.

Best Foot Forward staff and steering committee members express their “thanks” and recognize Osceola County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Spears as he retires this month.

In addition to his many other duties, Spears served as the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office liaison to the Best Foot Forward (BFF) Steering Committee since the program’s launch in 2017. He organized the Sheriff’s Office’s participation in Operation Best Foot Forward law enforcement details and offered his expert opinion on crosswalks and pedestrian safety for the program. He also served as the chairperson for the Osceola County Community Traffic Safety Team (CTST), where improving pedestrian safety is paramount. His professionalism and attention to detail are appreciated, but even more, his great sense of humor always make us smile.

“Deputy Spears truly cares about his community and that shines through in his commitment to the Best Foot Forward program,” said Kayla Mitchell, BFF program manager and Bike/Walk Central Florida assistant executive director. “We have sincerely enjoyed working with him and wish him lots of wonderful family time in his retirement!”

Best wishes to Paul and thanks for putting your best foot forward!
